What your Salesforce colleagues have to say about InsideView

Farjard Yousaf

Business Development Lead
Enterprise
Denver, CO

I use InsideView to build a Point of View on my accounts. At the start of our fiscal year, the various account teams I support held their annual account planning meetings. Strategy for the year, plays to run, contacts to reach out to, etc. everything was discussed. I heavily leveraged InsideView for these meetings to help to create Account Planning Docs with a POV. These docs included org structure, challenges, trends, competitors, technology footprint, and mutual connections. All in all InsideView was very helpful!

In Tyler’s experience:

  • InsideView is a one-stop shop for prospect information
  • InsideView eliminates BDR “swivel chair integration”
  • InsideView cuts down account research time by 80%

With InsideView, I was able to build out a handful of point-of-views for my account team in order to best strategize for each account. I found relevant information around each company’s industries, top competitors, and typical trends.

The major thing that really helped me get to know my accounts through InsideView was the main challenges a company would face in the industry, as well as great open-ended questions to dive deep into pain points. All the information on the account level was so extremely helpful!

I honestly really love the application for the power of the platform to have everything in one place and even display more information than we can think of. The “Company Profile” is the part I personally use the most, to have all the information about the company, the structure and the financials when it is available. It always gives a great point of view and better source of information before calling.

I absolutely love InsideView. Juggling so many accounts, InsideView has kept me on top of and up to date with the latest news and updates in all accounts. The list of current technology they use has also helped me gain valuable insight and find plays I would have never found on my own.

Andy Lagarde

In a matter of minutes I was able to create industry-specific account watchlists and copy/paste my accounts into each list. Then I queried each industry specific list, looking for key roles and contacts, across all my accounts in that industry. After saving those names, I exported them to a workbook that my business development rep and I are going to use for outbound calling. I haven’t compared the Insideview list of contacts to Org62 yet, but given that there are typically 300-600 contacts (with email, phone, and titles) in each industry, I’m guessing we’re going to find many new contacts to add to our accounts.

InsideView has helped me target a top Greenfield account of mine, Rosendin Electric. I have a call set up with their Document & Audit lead set next week and the keywords under “Call prep” helped me speak their language. For more context, you may find the account plan I made here.

I use InsideView to quickly find competitors. InsideView tends to be more accurate than the “comparable accounts” feature in Salesforce especially when it comes to insurance. Why it’s important for me to have hyper-relevant customer stories:

  • There are so many subverts in the insurance space and it’s important for me to be specific when I talk about customer stories
  • Insurance tends to be a slow-moving industry and being able to list accurate competitors creates a sense of urgency

In this example, I looked at the competitors section on Allied World’s InsideView page, checked Salesforce to see if any of those competitors were customers, and found Swiss Re. I listed Swiss Re in the subject of a BASHO to the CEO of Allied World. He referenced his interest in Swiss Re’s work with Salesforce and it led to a meeting with their marketing team!
